Horde Leveling – Cataclysm Quest Hubs

There are certain Horde quest hubs that were introduced in Cataclysm, which you should at least visit, if you’re not going to pick up any quests from there. I’m talking, of course, only about the camps specific to the Horde, excluding the neutral ones. So, if you’re up to a bit of a Horde leveling Cataclysm new Horde quest hubs are here:

Two of these Horde leveling Cataclysm quest hubs are in Southern Barrens. The most important one is Desolation Hold, an imposing Horde keep, right “across the street” from it’s opposite, the Alliance keep Fort Triump. Plenty of quests here and if you’re on a populated PvP server you just might pick one or two nice fights with Alliance players. The second one is a bit to the north from Desolation Hold, it named Vendetta Point. Not many quest here, but there’s a flight path that you should take.

Hardwrench Hideaway. It’s a new Horde leveling Cataclysm quest hub in the Cape of Stranglethorn. Many funny quests here, that will take your questing to the middle of the zone, and also inside the old Zul’Gurub, definitely a must-visit camp, if you’re leveling your Horde character through this area.

New Kargath, obviously a new Horde leveling Cataclysm quest hub, placed in western Badlands, is apparently what the Horde has built to replace the old Kargath which was destroyed by an avalanche or something and now is the home of a huge drake matriarch and her offspring. It’s a quest hub very rich in quests, and one of the quest chains is really cool, you get 3 Horde companions who come to help you with quests, and they all ride choppers.

Horde Leveling Done Right!

Want to finish your Horde leveling fast in World of Warcraft? It is simple. What you need to understand is that doing quests is king in WoW. So in order to level fast as Horde or Alliance, you need the fastest way to complete quests. So you need a good Horde leveling guide.

Luckily for you, you can find just that on this very website. You can see how effective a guide can be by following this Journal here. That character was done by an average WoW player who was given a leveling guide. He wasn’t told how to level or anything. He did everything the way he saw fit while using the Horde leveling guide.

This shows that no matter how good or bad you are at World of Warcraft, in order to level fast you need such a guide. The leveling path in this particular Horde leveling guide is very well made and tested. So it can deliver the best of results under any circumstances.

So here is what you need to level fast in WoW:

- A good Horde Leveling guide.

- The right class, which can be Hunter, Paladin or Druid, in that order.

- The right talent build. Look online to find the best PvE talent builds for either of those classes.

- And the right areas to level in. It isn’t the same to level in an area that is full of hills and rivers then in one that has a flat terrain. Keep that in mind when you go into an area and check it out first.

- If you have a main, make sure you get Heirloom items for your character. These will give you a consistent bonus to experience gained. Also, join a leveling guild as soon as you can. Look for one that has a higher level. You will get perks like bonus to experience gained, which stacks with heirloom items, faster mount speed and so on.

Get these things and you will be leveling in no time.

Many Horde players take the dungeon option for leveling their character from 1 to 85 nowadays. This is not a bad idea, but if you’re choosing this Horde leveling path to level your character, it’s best to aim for the instances with a high density of trash mobs. This will grant you a higher volume of XP. That, of course, if you don’t really want to complete random dungeons, for the treasure bag.

Although there are many dungeons in the game, I’m going to focus here on the instances found in Outland. So, these are the ones that I prefer when I level up. This is my dungeon leveling path for leveling up a Horde character, when I reach Outland:

Outland Leveling Dungeon - Hellfire Ramparts

Click to Maximize

1. Hellfire Ramparts, level 58-63. Only 3 bosses here, but there are plenty of orcs. Since the orcs are, of course, humanoids, they drop plenty of Runecloth and Netherweave Cloth, which makes it an ideal place to level up if you’re a Tailor. In fact this is one of the best places to farm Runecloth in World of Warcraft.

There’s also a fair drop rate for green items here for Enchanters, and the final boss drops quite a nice polearm weapon for the players that don’t have the Heirloom one. It’s not a very hard instance and if the group is good, you can even complete it without a tank. On my last run here, a hunter tanked the whole instance with a turtle pet.

Outland Leveling Dungeon - Underbog

Click to Maximize

2. Underbog, level 63-66. Plenty of trash mobs in this instance, especially near the entrance and most of them are plant-type. This means they can be “skinned” by a Herbalist. However, even if you won’t get too many useful plants from them, the XP here is great and regardless if you have Herbalism or not, there’s a quest herb that you should gather to sell at the Auction House.

The Sanguine Hibiscus which is needed by those who want to earn the Diplomat title, for reputation with The Sporregar.

Outland Leveling Dungeon - Sehtekk Halls

Click to Maximize

3. Sethekk Halls, level 66-68. Although there are only 2 bosses in normal mode here, Darkweaver Syth and Talon King Ikiss, there are plenty of trash mobs, and it’s not a bad choice for leveling up. Most mobs are humanoid and drop plenty of Netherweave Cloth.

Also, since most of the mobs are Arakkoa birds, you will get plenty of Arakkoa feathers which you can use either to increase your reputation with Lower City, or you can sell to the Auction House. In case you want to sell these feathers, it’s best to sell them in stacks of 30. That’s the number required for the repeatable reputation quest.

Outland Leveling Dungeon - The Botanica

4. The Botanica, level 68-70. This is my favourite for the exit levels of XP from Outland, the last dungeon in my Horde leveling path for Outland. There are plenty of Sunfury Elves here, and you’ll also get reputation with the with the Sha’tar.

Of course, leveling just by completing dungeons might get tedious, so it’s not a bad idea to alternate with BGs and quests. Questing still remains the best way to level up a character to 85, but to do it right, it’s best to follow an optimized quest path. For that I usually use a WoW leveling guide.

So, if you also want to level fast, each one of the guides I reviewed here, has a consistent Horde leveling path.

Today I had quite a bit of a leveling session, so here the summary of it in the 9th chapter of this Horde leveling journal.

First I want to say that the XP rate following Zygor Horde leveling guide maintains the same, since I started Outland, 1 level per 2 hours played. After 5 hours played, I managed to score 2 levels and a little more than a half, due to the guild XP bonus and the rested XP bonus that I had.

I managed to finish with Hellfire Peninsula and moved to Zangarmarsh. So far, here I’ve finished the quests at Cenarion Refuge and passed to Zabra’jin and Sporeggar.

For the Sporeggar faction, Zygor’s guide asks to gather 40 Mature Spore Sacs at the Spawning Glen, to get to Friendly standing for additional quests. In my opinion that shouldn’t be necessary because one or two quests plus or minus won’t make a big difference. Anyway, I’m not complaining and going to stick with the leveling path. This took me only about 10 minutes.

Found plenty of Ragveil following this WoW leveling guide’s path and there was none at the Auction House as I checked later, so I was able to sell it for 90 gold per stack.  Ch-ching!

Gilphor Horde Leveling Time for 9th Leveling Session

So, I’m closing the ninth chapter of Gilphor’s Horde leveling journal underlining that my pally is currently level 64 and 2/3 and has, as you can see in the screenshot here, 1 day, 22 hours and 15 minutes played. I hope I’ll be able to hit 66, before 2nd day of the total time played.

Starting another leveling session on Gilphor. I currently have 1 day and about 10 hours played and I’m level 56. I’m probably going to level up 60 today.

Gilphor Horde Leveling Journal Day 7

So, here’s the  summary of Gilphor’s 7th leveling session, the 7th chapter of this Horde leveling journal. After 3 hours and a half played today, I made it to 60. Cleared Winterspring and half of Blasted Lands. After finishing with the quests inside Dreadmaul Furnace in Blasted Lands I dinged 60 and Zygor’s guide detected it, skipping for me the rest of the quests in this zone.  So, my next step is to pass through the Dark Portal into Hellfire Peninsula and start with the Burning Crusade quests.

However, I didn’t venture into Outland yet. I’m leaving it for the next leveling session. Calling it a day for now.

The prices for glyphs went down over night  so I finally bought 2 important glyphs: Glyph of Crusader Strike and Glyph of Judgement. A few days ago these glyphs had outrageous prices of 2-300g.

Since I started the quests in Blasted Lands, Zygor Horde leveling guide didn’t tell me to make Dreadmaul Hold my home, so I used my hearthstone to teleport to Winterspring and flew once more to Orgrimmar, to train for level 60 (got Blessing of Might) and to get my flying skills. It’s a good thing I saved all the money for this. I got both Expert Riding and Flight Master’s License and still have 1500g. So, by the time I reach level 70 I’m probably going to be covered for the epic flying skill.

One more thing to add here. I was dumb not to use the Zygor guide talent advisor option.  Because I had two talents trained which were almost useless for leveling, I had to re-train.

Gilphor Horde Leveling Time for 7th Leveling Session

Therefore, to conclude this blog the 7th chapter of this Horde leveling journal, I’m going to repeat, Gilphor is now level 60, has 1 day, 13 hours and 34 minutes played.
